Persian cats are well aware of their long and glorious heritage, extending back to the earliest days of the cradle of civilization: Mesopotamia. These cats will tell you that they are the reason for human civilization: they needed servants to feed and brush their long silky fur.
Persian cats are well aware of their long and glorious heritage, extending back to the earliest days of the cradle of civilization: Mesopotamia. These cats will tell you that they are the reason for human civilization: they needed servants to feed and brush their long silky fur. Tibbles is a benevolent ruler, bestowing his faithful minions with love and affection.
This portrait was created with hand-painted paper from a variety of sources, including sheet music, maps, foreign language newspapers and mulberry paper. I used a lot of specialty mulberry papers in this piece because of their unique, furry texture. The eyes were made from at least 8 different pieces of hand-tinted papers, all ripped so the edges blend together.
Even if you don't have a Persian cat to rule your home, you can have a portrait of a true king upon your wall.
